◦◙ Art Basel 2010 Part 4

It wasn’t the drinking, or the dancing, or the sloppy curb crawling that happened over Art Basel that I enjoyed the most. But it was the Hello Kitty exhibit in the Design District and the Hello Kitty pop up store that made it all the worth while. The day began with Stephanie and I meeting up with Melody at the FriendsWithYou Rainbow City installation at the park. Winter in Miami was pretty brutal, so the fact that it was warm out was a splendid surprise. After Rainbow City we drove further downtown and hit up all the little exhibits and galleries that were happening that night. I loved all the different renditions of Hello Kitty. Each artists work was so unique and creative in the ways and techniques that they interpreted the iconic character.

◦◙ Morph 1

Last night was good. Last night was really, really good. I met Cynthia at her house and we headed over to our favorite sushi spot, Sushi Yama. Delicious! After sushi, loud music, and joy rides, we came back home and chilled. She’s so funny. I feel like we have this celestial connection that’s been pre-aligned by the universe in an altered universe somewhere.. It’s good though.

While she was in the bathroom I felt the need to of course make a morphing video on my new MacBook Pro (because that’s all I do now), and I lip synced to Lykke Li’s “Little Bit” featuring Drake, which happens to be one of my all time favorites. My camel blazer (courtesy of Stephanie Rodriguez), was used as everything but a blazer. I honestly don’t know how I did this. At all..

I literally took this blazer and made it into an elephant, a fish, a shell, a flower, a tower, a cowboy hat, and various other things. What do you guys see?

◦◙ Art Basel 2010 Part 2-3

During the second night of Art Basel, I didn’t really take that many pictures. I was too busy pumping around the Design District as a drunk ass. Plus Cynthia and I spent a hell of a confusing time trying to figure out where Pharell and FriendsWithYou were at, because we needed to meet up with Tina. Once we finally met up with her, we huddled over to SCOPE to meet everyone else. I really hate when there’s 50,000 people on either side of you, and you’re pretty much holding on for dear life to get to your destination. The rest of that night is a blur. All I know is that in the end I made it home alive.

Night 3 was when things started really picking up. Cynthia, Tina, and I met everyone at the hotel that we were staying at in Sunny Isles for Art Basel weekend. I don’t really remember all the places we went, but it was a ball. What I do remember is walking on the side walk in South Beach and suddenly being distracted by two guys making out in a taxi. All of a sudden I yell out.. I looked down and realized that I ran my fucking knee cap into a fire hydrant. Instant agony. Walking around in wedges and cripple-esque at the same time isn’t cute…

◦◙ Art Basel 2010 Part 1

Looooong awaited! 3 months past due to be exact. Last year’s Art Basel in December was one of explosion, fashion, dancing, art (duh), and sloppy street walks. Of course right after the week long festival and all the events, galleries, shin digs, and parties, I was without a computer. Which is why it took me so long to even begin editing. Most of you who were involved, have been pestering me for these pictures. Well here’s the first set, so shut the fuck up.

Night 1 consisted of Melody and I hitting up Design Miami first (don’t let us fool you, we only made it to the entrance). We weren’t about to splurge just to see an art show. I can do that on my own time. After we socialized and such, we headed over to the Vogue party to pre-game. Nothing says chic, drunk bitch like a fierce ensemble with 2 drinks in hand and 1 on the table. We pretty much hit every hotel on South Beach and then Alexander the Great met up with us. we headed to the beach to see Metric perform. Wedges and sand don’t go hand in hand by the way…

☺ Hugh Lippe

Photographer [Hugh Lippe] brings such a sense of erotica and sensuality to his work. Though subtle and naturally sexy, his images are strong and create quite an impact. These 2 pictures are actually very simple and not so “in your face” as some of his other work. I love the clean, chic elegance of the styling in the images. Lace in a museum? Who would of thunk?

☺ Stomp

Hello world! I know I’ve been on quite the hiatus, but now I’m back. And what better way to come back then to present a pair of insanely designed, wicked fucking shoes!? Designer [Gabriella Marina Gonzalez] pretty much made my mouth water when I saw these. As a sucker for wedges and anything high, I think this is pretty much and quintessentially the everyday wedge. Agree? With designs that are absolutely divine and all things unique while simultaneously never seen before, I’d say that Gabriella is hitting all the right points and is a force to reckon with.
